We had the privilege of participating in an impactful forum hosted at Charter Hall, Nairobi County, organized by the Voluntary Services Organization (VSO) in collaboration with Nairobi County. At the exhibition, we showcased our innovative Black Soldier Fly Rearing Project, highlighting its potential for sustainable waste management and community development.
The “From Waste to Work” project is an initiative aimed at empowering vulnerable youth in Kenya by creating sustainable jobs through waste recovery and value addition. Supported by the IKEA Foundation and implemented by VSO in partnership with Taka Taka Solutions (TTS) and Stichting International Child Development Initiatives (ICDI), the project focuses on fostering green entrepreneurship and promoting environmental sustainability. By mobilizing and organizing youth into business clubs, providing technical and entrepreneurship training, and linking them to markets, the project aims to create decent job opportunities, especially for marginalized groups, including young women
