Implemented by Ustadi Foundation, the EMAJIC project empowered 35 women and youth groups of waste collectors in Kasarani and Ruaraka Sub-counties, reaching 800 individuals. These groups benefited from capacity building and training in group dynamics, Voluntary Saving and Loaning Association (VSLA) methodologies, entrepreneurship, and financial management, and received assistance in obtaining formal registration. All the groups successfully established formal structures and registered with the Department of Social Services.
SEHub played a crucial role in the project by coordinating activities, planning and conducting trainings, and helping the groups formalize their internal structures.
